Our team have in depth experience of addressing employee motivation and performance issues within the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

We have a balanced range of knowledge and skills across the team and all our consultants are graduates with membership of their appropriate professional institutions e.g. Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society, Chartered Management Institute, and the Institute of Business Consultants.

Our Management Team

JAN HENNESSEY   BA  FCIPD  FIBC  SRN

Jan is responsible for our Learning, Development and Coaching Consultancy Practices.

As a Consultant Jan specialises in leadership and management development, performance management, team building, assessment and selection, delivered through specifically targeted initiatives.  Adelphi Communications, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Commission for Architecture and Built Environment, engageMutual, Government Departments, "Johnnie" Johnson Housing Association, Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, Metsec, Quintiles, Servite Housing, Syngenta, University of Manchester are past and current clients.

Jan has developed particular expertise as a coach and mentor, providing guidance and feedback to individual senior managers in private, public and not-for-profit sectors, working with them in a personal capacity to enhance achievement of their objectives.  She has led programmes addressing the skills required for these roles.

Jan has been involved extensively as a process facilitator working with groups from Board level down to assist with the management of wide-ranging change issues.  AstraZeneca, Bethell Group, Crown Prosecution Service, Degussa, Gemini Genomics, Lancaster University, Novartis, Remploy, United Utilities are organisations for whom she has provided this service.

In a lay capacity, Jan was Deputy Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Manchester (UoM) and was then appointed to the Board of the new institution which combines UoM with UMIST and constitutes the largest research and teaching based University in the United Kingdom.  She is now a member of the University's Press Board and a non-executive Board member of Cheshire Peaks and Plains Housing Trust as well as of Gaddum Centre, a charitable social work agency.

David is responsible for our Reward, Performance and Business Psychology Consultancy practices.

David has over 30 years experience in management consultancy with particular experience and expertise in the fields of:

Prior to joining Anne Shaw Consultants as Director – Reward, Recognition and Performance, David worked as:

David has worked with a wide range of organisations helping in the design and implementation of a diverse range of organisational-wide change programmes.  Some of his clients include Advantage West Midlands, Aker Solutions, Arla Foods, N G Bailey, Baxi Potterton, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cape Industrial Services, Cardif Pinnacle Insurance, Croda International, Hagemeyer, "Johnnie" Johnson Housing, London Underground, Oddfellows, Provident Financial Group, Simon Carves, the Tote and the University of Bradford.

He is also a co-opted member of the Remuneration Committee of “Johnnie” Johnson Housing Trust.

Business Support Team

Our business support team provide administrative services to ongoing assignments and are often the first point of contact with current and prospective clients.  If they cannot find an answer to any of your questions they will arrange for the appropriate Consultant to make contact. 
Sue and Julie have over 25 years of experience of liasing with clients and take pride in their high level of customer service.

Our Associates

Anne Shaw Consultants operates as a virtual organisation using our network of Associate Consultants – independent consultants based throughout the UK with a high level of knowledge, experience and professional qualifications. Whenever we staff a consultancy project we aim to choose Associates with the most appropriate background and experience to undertake the work.  We will always introduce the proposed Associates to you at the beginning of the assignment so that you can ensure the “chemistry” is right.

The work of our Associates is monitored and reviewed by our Management Team so that we can assure you of the highest standards of quality and customer service.
